As the world’s “superpower” for the last 80 years, The United States has had much ‘expected’ of it as it has been ‘given’ (earned?) so much.
Internally, America has built/strengthened the support ‘pillars’ of Education; Healthcare; Safety; Technology; Environmental Sciences; and the Arts just to name a few of its major developments.
These structures were created with engineering/construction knowhow and ‘building’ materials which have since become woefully outdated.
Much like wood beams and masonry walls could once only span a 12-foot room ceiling, buildings can now span open-air atria thanks to materials like steel and pre-fabricated ‘composite’ synthetics.
Likewise where buildings once needed the support of thick stone, brick and formed concrete columns to go modestly high, architects now can use aluminum, titanium and carbon fiber to reach much higher using significantly less weight for substantially more strength.
I believe the same structural evolution needs to take place for America’s so-called “essential” institutions. Things like Healthcare have become bloated by the control of “Big Pharma” and even Bigger Insurance. “Semaglutide” injections are required for immediate slimming and trimming.
Education no longer uses pencil and paper as much as it uses “red tape” to bind the hands of the parents whose children are being educated and whose taxes are paying for bureaucrats’ choices. Parental Control options needs to be returned just like on our electronic devices.
Law Enforcement has been sufficiently ‘handcuffed’ by a legal system which seems to favor the criminals at the expense of the victims. Likewise, the halls of courtroom justice seem to have been imprisoned by prosecutors and district attorneys who have hidden agendas funded by ulterior motives. Money is the evil of all routes here!
Externally, our global institutions have followed a similar path. Once good ideas NATO and the United Nations have become convoluted vehicles for the ‘arms’ and legs of the Military/Industrial complex. We can no longer afford to pick up the ‘tab’ every time. It’s time for “separate checks” in order that everyone pays a fair share.
The necessity for the Department of Defense has become the Department of Offense paid for with our young peoples’ lives and the confiscated tax payer dollars by the ‘owned’ (by lobbyists) governmentally-elected representatives. Precise “accountability” is more than in order here.
Intellectual Property has been our ‘gift’ that has kept on giving for far too long and well beyond our ability to afford it. Since science has been ‘downgraded’ from facts to opinions, it is high time for each country to create their own and keep their own unless an ‘equitable’ trade can be agreeably negotiated.
So, What now? I believe that we need to excavate the “deep state’ and demolish its “cathedral.”
So, Where and How? The same methodology used by Merger & Acquistion specialists when evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of a potential takeover ‘target.’ Take a sharpened ‘pencil’ to each and every one of the current Federal agencies. I.e., cut ALL the ‘fat’ and build ALL the ‘muscle!’
So, When and Why? The next President and Congress must make this a priority since this country is drowning in Debt and Deficit. Leadership must clearly distinguish what is genuinely essential (e.g., those truly in need) and those ‘gaming’ the system (e.g., those exploiting the taxpayers).
Who can do this? A Leader and dedicated team of “Make America First Again” business people with absolutely no political agenda or obligations. Set a Great example for the States and Cities to follow!
