With songwriter’s credit to Jim Krueger and singer’s credit to Dave Mason, welcome to my world; the world of a “contrarian.” Like they wrote/sang: “there ain’t no good guy, there ain’t no bad guy, there’s only you and me, and we just disagree.” (I took paraphrasing liberty). ;o)
Unless we are only talking about my marriage, I need to “pluralize” the condition to include most of the conventional world at large. I would add my own lyrics to include: there ain’t no right, there ain’t no wrong; there ain’t no healthy, there ain’t no unhealthy; there ain’t no successful, there ain’t no unsuccessful; …no black, no white; no full, no empty; no high, no low; no, big, no small; no rich, no poor; etc. The point being akin to the theory of (“grey/gray”) relativity, not extremality.
Life is not a “zero sum” game yet, most people prefer to play it as such. I get ‘it’; it is so much easier than giving oneself ‘skull cramps’ by treating everything/one according to its own unique DNA. As a currently relevant example, it is easier to think that there are only two choices: either to go to war with Iran or two, not go to war and most people choose between those extreme options. I totally disagree with that binary dilemma. There is much more to consider than only mutually exclusive options.
For example, I saw a chance for Iran to eliminate its nuclear ambitions IF Israel would agree to eliminate its existing nuclear arsenal. Since BibI has Trump by the scrotal sac and Congress has its collective ‘head’ so far up Netanyahu’s rectum as to bump that head against his duodenum, that was not even a considered alternative within the realm of negotiation. It should have most definitively been a possibility for any thinking person of fair and just solutions. Well, at least, ME! See what I mean? If I even propose an idea in the forest, would it even make a ‘sound’?
Since the last example is already moot and my voice of reason is completely mute, here’s a futuristic possibility. Shift the World War III scenario that has the Military/Industrial Complex salivating (or cumming for your adult analogies) over the shift from the Middle East arena to the Pacific Rim. That choice then becomes 1.) Have China take Taiwan by force or 2.) Have the U.S. and its Allies go to war to try and stop China. In this scenario’s ‘performance’, the part of (prima dona/diva) Israel would be played by ‘understudy’ Taiwan but without the (AIPAC) “leverage”. The part of (understudy) Iran will be played by Oscar/Tony/Emmy-award winner, China.
Here come da Contrarian…here come da Contrarian. I propose a 5, 10, 15, or 20-year transition for Taiwan to become China’s “Formosa”. Then, America can sell all its weaponry to Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and any other “western” philosophy-type government who choses to fight for their own, capitalism, democracy and/or religious freedom/liberty in which they think is worth it? Because guess what? After Taiwan comes Manilla (not the envelope): then THE North (with Bejing’s backing) wanting to unify the Korean peninsula; and finally, Japan.
Washington is like a helicopter parent (as opposed to China’s “tiger mom”) who refuses to let her kid grow up to become an adult in order to stand on her/his own two feet. All you get with that approach is a kid who never moves out of the basement. I do not mind paying through the undergraduate years but after that, you must pay your own way. Run your own damn household and all the associated expenses that go with it! Do you want to know what P.T. Aniello says? “When it comes to non-critical-thinking voters, there are many suckers born every minute.” Most are just uninformed ‘cattle’ following D.C.’s ‘lemmings’ over the ‘cliff’ to the slaughterhouse. Mixed metaphors/analogies are my stock-in-trade. 😀
What about Finances and the Economy? How did such a rich country create a “balance sheet” with such an enormous national debt? By having no respect for the future or any decent sense of priorities, that’s how. It is as if I borrowed money at exorbitant interest rates to pay for my cousin’s new sports car while my own kids went hungry. Rather, I save up and then buy what is essential for my values while never using credit to do so. I have never paid any credit card fees or interest. It requires patience, restraint and discipline, somethings we lack as a people. The very things that the Rothschild’s-controlled banking system never wants us to learn. A contrarian and minority position for sure.
Trillions-upon-trillions of dollars for winless wars that should not have been of U.S.A. concern. Billions-and billions of dollars to underwrite/subsidize supposed allies in parts of the world far away from any real danger or necessary opportunity to/for us. Lying politicians leading the borrowing ‘sheep’ to graze on the barren yard of the “poor house.” I cannot abide or support that insane spending. And no, I am not a “fun” person as I do not link my sense of self-worth to my materialistic possessions.(but I have been called a fungi).
On the topic of Education, once again I must ‘swim’ against the memorize & regurgitate ‘tide’. As a Full Professor Emeritus with an earned doctorate, I value critical thinking that is both practical and pragmatic. I revere creativity whereby students of all ages develop many alternate solutions to real challenges and possibilities but not unnatural/unreal delusions, illusions and allusions. (leaving that for the Ivy League). Technology must be a tool of the mind and not the brain becoming a ‘tool’ of technology. Most of all, I want the soul and heart of “truth” to trump every individual’s intellect of ‘facts’. Is anyone standing over ‘here’ with me on this issue?
When it comes to Healthcare, I might make Robert F. Kennedy look like president of the A.M.A. I come from a family of long-livers and I’m not sure which came first, the good genes or the good habits? Since the food of their “Mediterranean Diet” is very hard to reproduce these days, I must rely on the 30 supplements per day that I ingest. Those are for nutrition; pasta is for fuel; and pizza is just for fun. My wife thinks all I do is manufacture expensive urine—most of it during the graveyard shift. Her mom died at 64, my Mom at 94. ‘Nuff said. (bolding is sic.) I am not snobby about pharmaceuticals or surgery, however. I have partaken, currently partake and will continue to partake of them in the future as deemed necessary. The point here is redundant, I am not a vegan, not a hypochondriac but a commonsense hybridization in the middle. Add in good sleep and a little exercise along the way please! Buehler, anyone, Buehler?
I think that’s enough examples for now. If you didn’t get the point yet, you probably were not meant to. Just remember, the middle ground produces the hallowed ground, but it is not very crowded at all.
