THE DISTANCE FROM SAVIOR TO LEADER

Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God and He was the ultimate “Savior” of the world. Furthermore, since they believe there will not be another of His importance until the “Second Coming,” other mortals might still warrant some recognition for their ability to ‘inspire’ and ‘influence.’ Jesus has his Apostles as his “Mangers” to carry out his mission ‘statements’ among his Followers and the Organization of THE Church to implement the necessary “objectives” and “strategies” for compliance to the belief and faith of Christianity. This, having lasted over 2,000 years.

You might say for example that America’s “Founding Fathers” have had an extremely major and important Leadership influence upon their “World” and inspired a legion of Managers (3 Branches) and Followers to consider a totally new form of government. This, having lasted over 200 years.

On the ‘negative’ side of the “ledger,” one could argue that Adolph Hitler had an equally powerful vision for his world and assembled a significant number of managers to implement their ‘missions’ among the many followers of his “leadership.” Thankfully, this only lasted around 10 years.

Next along the Leadership “continuum,” I would place a man like Abraham Lincoln as a person who has a significant and substantial influence upon his ‘organization’s’ people. Despite major resistance, he had enough Mangers to carry out his the “mission statements” of his “vision” for what eventually became a ‘better’ country.

Even though, I can find some fault with both Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Lyndon Baines Johnson and the deleterious effects of their socialist policies, I do not doubt the sincerity or authenticity of their genuine visions to deal with the huge problems they inherited or the successful manner in which they conquered those problems through their Managers and for their Followers.

I place Donald J. Trump in the same Leadership category of FDR and LBJ. While not faced with the problems of Depression or War nor the opportunity for “A Great Society,” Mr. Trump’s challenge to undo some of the contemporary issues of lasting world peace; unsustainable debt; renew “American Dream” prosperity; to curtail rampant crime/corruption;  to address healthcare; to re-invent education; and to streamline a strangling bureaucracy. This undoubtedly will require the same magnitude of changes enacted by FDR/LBJ Leadership along with a cadre of tireless, devoted Managers to implement the “cause” to ALL of the American Followers. A Great-ER society?

While a Leader like Donald Trump might hold the Leadership ‘place’ for the time being, I am still waiting for a Founding-Fathers-type Leader (or, at least Lincoln) to “rise up from these streets” in order inspire 67% of all Managers (not just 51%) to implement the Missions for 80% of all Americans (and not just 51%)!
